Things To Do In Boston This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Fall is just around the corner, officially beginning September 23rd, which means all things autumn – fallen leaves, cozy sweaters, and beloved Pumpkin Spice Lattes are close in sight. Lucky for the BC population, we live in one of the prettiest cities for the fall season. Take advantage of all Boston has to offer this fall with these ideas of fun things to do these coming months.

1.     Apple Picking

What: Arguably one of the best parts off fall. Grab a group of friends, pull on a plaid button down for a rustic effect, and prepare yourself for fresh apples, doughnuts, and apple cider.

When: Now!

Where: There are a number of farms scattered throughout the Boston area that are open to the public. Visit this site for a more thorough list of places.

2.     Red Sox Game

What: Having grown up in a family with strong Boston roots, I can attest that “Red Sox Nation” is very much real and most definitely worth experiencing during your four years at BC. Hop on the D line and head over to the Fenway stop to take part in this treasured aspect of Boston culture.

When: For every home game this season, Standing Room Only tickets are offered to all college students for just $9 a ticket with a valid student ID. There are games all throughout the week and weekends – find one that fits with your schedule!

Where: Fenway Park – oldest park in the MLB!

  3.     The Head of The Charles

What: The Head of the Charles Regatta is an annual boat race that takes place on the Charles River each October. This two-day event is the second largest regatta in the world with roughly 9,000 athletes and 400,000 spectators.

When: October 18-19

Where: The Charles River, which separates Boston from Cambridge. For more information on where to watch, visit this link.

Hopefully these ideas will inspire you for the autumn season ahead of us! Whether it be the pretty leaves, crisp air, or excitement of BC football season (and tailgating), there are many reasons to love fall. What is your favorite part of the season?
