Sunscreens for Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

One of the most crucial aspects of any beauty routine is SPF. It protects skin from the sun’s harsh rays, prevents wrinkles, and keeps your complexion smooth and fresh. Just like cleansers and foundation, sunscreen must be chosen based upon specific skin needs. For those of you headed to warmer destinations for break, here’s a guide to sunscreens for all skin types and needs!

Sensitive Skin:

Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid Lotion Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 55

Sunscreen can be a major issue for girls with sensitive and acne-prone skin. It often causes clogged pores, which then lead to breakouts. This Neutrogena sunscreen avoids that, though. Not only does it apply smoothly onto skin, but it is also non-comedogenic, which simply means that it won’t lead to pesky breakouts.

All Skin Types:

Kiehl’s Super Fluid UV Defense SPF

All of Kiehl’s skin care products are fantastic, but this one trumps the rest in terms of skin protection. The formula is extremely lightweight and easily absorbs into the skin, without leaving a tacky residue. It won’t make you break out, won’t cause any irritation, and will deliver the most beautiful and even tan you could ever ask for.

Damaged Skin:

Bobbi Brown BB Cream SPF 35

For those who need both UVB protection and coverage, this BB cream is perfect. With SPF 35, you’ll be safe from the sun’s rays, but will also be able to cover up any blemishes. The BB cream will apply a little bit smoother than sunscreen, and will most likely not have to be reapplied as often.
