The Street in Review

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

One of the most underrated food and shopping areas near Boston College is “The Street.” “The Street” is a small shopping center on 55 Boylston Street (which is very close to the Chestnut Hill Mall). And I can convince you with two glorious words: 1. Shake 2. Shack. Yes, I’m completely serious. If you haven’t yet eaten at Shake Shack, please do so as soon as possible. It is arguably one of the most delicious fast food restaurants I’ve ever been to. And as of now, this Shake Shack is the only one in the Boston area. PS: Sorry if you just got really hungry looking at that, I know I did.

But “The Street” also has multiple restaurants such as Bernard’s, a super yummy Chinese restaurant. Definitely the best one I’ve ever eaten at here in Boston! There are also some great options if you are craving something a little sweeter, such as Pinkberry and Treat Cupcake Bar.

But enough about food. “The Street” has a bunch of cool clothing stores. I know a BC personal favorite is Lululemon athletica. That’s right, you can get your fix of Lululemon leggings and headbands, and it’s all just a 25-minute walk away! There’s also a City Sports, so if you are looking for something a little more specific or beyond the “yoga wear” you could definitely find it there.

This last one is a personal favorite of mine. An Intermix should be opening up soon at “The Street!” Which if you have never been there, it’s a super stylish clothing store. They have everything from shoes, to jewelry, to purses, to dressy clothes, to casual clothes! It’s basically my haven. I’m so excited they are opening one close to BC!

“The Street” is not just a place for shopping and dining though, there is also the fabulous SuperLux Showcase Cinema. Although tickets are $20, it is well worth it with the pick-your-own plush seats, the wait staff, and the extensive menu that goes beyond the common popcorn and soda with options such as delicious cocktails and appetizers! The lobby of the movie theather itself looks like a fancy hotel with its own bar, TVs and comfortable seats – a great place to meet with friends before and after the film! I would definitely recommend going here for the full movie experience!

So if you have the time and you are hungry or in need of shopping, check out “The Street.” They have everything you want and more. Want more information? Check out the “The Street” website and see a full list of stores and restaurants.
