Reasons Why Christmas is the Best Holiday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Let’s be real: Christmas is by far the best holiday. I spend all year getting excited for Christmas and now that the holiday season is finally here, I couldn’t be more thrilled. If you don’t think Christmas is the greatest holiday ever, here’s a list of reasons why you’re wrong:

1. The Presents

Honestly who doesn’t love getting gifts???

2. The Decorations

Seeing Christmas lights and decorations everywhere is one of the best sights in the whole world. Everything looks so pretty and so festive and it’s hard not to have a smile on your face. Plus, decorating the Christmas tree is always a really fun, family activity.

3. The Music

Listening to Christmas music is arguably one of the best parts of the holiday season. There are so many types of songs, with so many genres and messages, that it’s impossible not to have a favorite.

4. The Family

I’m super close with my family, and Christmas allows for all of us to come together and spend some really quality time together. It’s always an awesome and happy time when we’re together, especially when the holidays are involved.

5. The Food

From elaborate family meals, to yummy cookies, to candy in stockings, and all sorts of other holiday snacks, Christmas always means you’ll be having delicious food.

6. The Cheer

There’s nothing better than seeing everyone so happy and excited for the holidays.

7. The Christmas Smell

I promise I’m not crazy. Who doesn’t love the smell of fresh pine needles and Christmas cookies???

8.  The Poinsettias

I’ve always been a sucker for those beautiful flowers. Seeing them all out and on display during the holiday season is one of the best parts of Christmas.

9. The Christmas Movies

Christmas movies are the absolute BEST. There are so many to choose from and they’re all so enjoyable. Everyone looks forward to watching these movies all year.

10. The Traditions

Every family has their own Christmas traditions. At my house, we have all sorts of traditions that make the holiday season even more exciting. I can’t wait to get home from school and start celebrating with my family! With so much to look forward to, Christmas is always a very special holiday. It is by far MY favorite holiday. I’m wishing all of you guys a very happy, healthy, safe, and fun Christmas, this year! See you in January, BC!
