The Questions We NEED Answered in the Gilmore Girls Revival

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

After almost ten years, Netflix is bringing back Gilmore Girls. The show was loved by thousands of viewers due to its witty banter, small-town charm, and the best mother-daughter duo known to television. With the show back on track for a four-episode mini-series, here are the top things that all Gilmore Girls fans are wondering about and undoubtedly hoping to see. This contains spoilers, so don’t read ahead if you haven’t watched it!

1. Who will Rory end up with?

Rory’s love life was a central point of the show, and the show left with it being unresolved. To this day, people still debate about who was best for Rory (Jess, obviously), and reportedly all three of the guys will be back for the revival. I’m sure everyone is eagerly awaiting to see who Rory finally ends up with. Last we saw her, Rory had graduated from Yale and was taking on a journalism career. Will she still be traveling and writing like before? Or will she have moved back to Stars Hollow and taken on a new career?

2. Where will Lorelai and Luke be now?

After seasons of fans rooting for Lorelai and Luke’s relationship, they finally ended up together, happily concluding the seventh season. But now where will they be? Will Luke still be manning the diner and Lorelai running the Dragonfly? Or will they have tried something new and started working together? And will kids be a part of the show?

3. What are the four words that will end the show?

In numerous interviews, Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator of the show, has referenced how she envisioned the show to end; she speaks of four words that will conclude Gilmore Girls. Since she wasn’t on board for the final season, viewers never had the chance to know those four words. Now that she will be working with the Netflix revival, what will they be and who will say them?

4. Will the dynamic of the show change?

Since the show will now be missing two of its main characters, Sookie and Richard, will the show’s dynamic change? Will Lorelaid and Rory still be going to Friday night dinners with Emily? And how will Sookie’s absence be explained? While the show will certainly maintain its charm, these characters will be missed.

The revival will surely be perfect, but until it’s released, grab a cup (or two) of coffee and re-watch! And if you haven’t seen it yet, now is the time to get started!
