Let’s Bring a Digital Photo Studio to BC

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

If you have ever taken a photography or art class here at BC you might have been surprised at the lack of resources that students are offered.  As sophomore Kellie Corwin explains it, she is tired of having to travel into the city to complete her assignments.  That is why she has started a campaign to attain the much-needed photo equipment for BC.  Kellie has talked to the department and one of Boston College’s donors, getting her plan well under-way, and the next step is to discover student interest and opinions on the matter.

If the plan were to go through, the result would likely be a small photo studio with lighting and other equipment.  The studio would be the most beneficial to art students, as Kellie puts it, I think the studio would be unlike any other resource we have on campus now and it would expose a lot of people to art.  I also think it will benefit art students, allowing them to create and materialize ideas rather than having to find them outside and then edit the pictures to death”.  Moreover, other students could have access to the studio for club/organization or personal/academic uses. Additionally the studio could be a resource for BC Athletics and advertising, promoting student involvement in the process.

So help us out!  Would you like to see this resource at BC?  Care to share your opinions on the matter?  Want to help out your fellow Eagles?  Please take a quick moment to fill out this survey!
