If you are anything like me game day is just another excuse to show your school spirit. I am always looking for fun way to express the love I have for my BC. What better way to do it than with a really fun look for your nails? Want to go all out with the school spirit or just have a subtle touch of pride? Well I have searched the internet far and wide and have found some great game day looks for every level of spirit.

Warning: some nail designs are harder than others and so results may vary (trust me Pinterest always makes it look easier than it really is.)

For the “sticker wearing, knee high sock sporting, Boston College jersey donning Fan,” the “Football Field”

This set of nails is perfect because nothing gets lost in translation. You are a football fanatic.  What better way to express that than having a field perfectly painted on your nails plus now you have found a use for that green that you bought for Halloween last year when you wanted to be a witch.

For the “classic, pearl earring wearing, nautical boat shoe walking vest hugging” girl

This is the perfect look to stay classy but be a little sassy. This is accomplished with the accent nail in gold. You don’t have to do gold beads, a simple shimmer gold would accomplish the same thing plus it translate great from day time tailgating to night time at the boat club type of atmosphere. You might have school spirit but you are most definitely trendy.

For the “backwards hat wearing, drunkest girl at the party, barely make it to the game but still loves to go” girl

These are the perfect nails for you. Very cool but super simple to do cause the nail polish does all the work. This cool and trendy metallic gold color will make all your girlfriends “OH” and “AH” as you shotgun that forth beer of the tailgate. Remember a lady doesn’t spill and with these nails you’re sure to distract you competition enough to get that win. Also with the little work it takes to do them you are then able to dedicate more time to a pre-tailgating mimosa (or two).

And finally how about the “slightly edgy, music playing, Superfan shirt tucked into the high-waisted shorts wearing” girl? Here’s what I have got for you!

I call this the Ombre nail. It’s super tricky to do but when executed perfectly the results are memorizing. It’s kind of like a night sky but with our maroon rather than black. It makes for an event better effect which is the perfect amount of spirit for game day but also completely perfect for a night out after the game.

Where to get everything:

To find all your nail polish needs I would go straight to CVS. They have great prices and all types of quality. If you are just a beginner honestly just go for the “Sally Hansen Instant Dry” this will dry really quickly and will allow you more time to practice your skills.

So there you have it guys. Just a few options to show your Boston College eagles that you really care. Got to love football season. Hoping for many more wins so we can keep up the cheering. Let’s go Eagles! And I hope to see some of you sporting these cool looks on game. Over the next few weeks I will be attempting all of these styles and will be doing write ups of “how to” after I have confidently figured them out. Until then I would recommend you resort to YouTube. They have some great beauty gurus and the tutorials are relatively easy to follow. Trust me practice makes perfect ladies! Until next time, have a lovely day!

I am a Political Science major and Women's and Gender Studies minor at Boston College. I am an RA on campus and am involved in the Student Admissions Program. Since I am from Florida, I can legitimately say that I love long walks on the beach. I also love getting lost in a world fabricated by a novel, there is honestly nothing better.
