Ask HC BC: Freezing Fashionista

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Dear HC BC,

What’s the easiest way to look fashionable in this weather without turning into a total poof ball?  I know I should be wearing extra layers for the winter, but I don’t want to look frumpy or boring.

Dear Freezing Fashionista,

Although dressing for winter may seem tricky, it is actually pretty easy!  All you need are a few basic, warm essentials that can be paired with fun accessories.  My biggest piece of advice would be to invest in a long winter coat in a neutral color.  These are great for trekking to class in the cold, and they can be paired with practically anything.  The next essential would be a stylish pair of boots that won’t get ruined in the snow.  I am obsessed with my Hunter boots, and I love mixing and matching with the fun socks.  I am also a huge advocate of oversized sweaters.  These are comfortable, cozy, and totally cute.  Pair them with fitted colored jeans and you’ll have the perfect look.  The next step is to invest in a bunch of colorful scarves!  Not only will they keep you warm, but they also add a personal touch to any outfit.  The same applies for hats and gloves, too!  It may seem difficult at first, but staying stylish and comfortable for winter only takes a couple steps!

Stay warm!

HC Love,

HC BC
