We all know how difficult it can be to get our hair to look perfect. That’s even harder to do when the humidity in the air is thick enough to cut with a knife. It’s frustrating, to say the least, and can downright ruin an otherwise very put-together look. I have thick hair so I know the struggle of the frizz. I tend to wear my hair down and let it do its natural thing, but with humidity, that’s not an option. I’ve searched the internet to find ways to deal with hair in humid weather and decided these were the five best hairstyles to try.

Upside down French Braid Bun

This one is great if you’re looking for casual but cute. The braid adds a little extra something to the otherwise ordinary easy hairstyle. Basically, flip your head upside down, and starting from your neck, begin to braid your hair up to the top of your head. When you reach about ponytail height, stop. Take the braided part along with all the loose hair and tie it in a ponytail. Then twist the loose hair into a bun form and secure it with hair ties and bobby pins.

Easy Chignon

I know this sounds fancy, but as the description states, it really is easy to do. You can do it in 3 simple steps. Just twist the two sides of your hair until they meet in the middle, then use a hair tie to create a low ponytail. After you do this, take the untwisted ponytail part and tuck it over the hair tie so that it goes through. Then, take the remaining loose ponytail hair and, using some bobby pins, fasten it inside the twisted hair so that it creates a kind of bun.

High Ponytail w/ Headscarf

Again, this hairstyle is so easy. All you have to do is put your hair in a ponytail. Then, take a cute headscarf and tie it around your head to create a cute look with little effort to avoid the messy humidity. Bonus: the headscarf not only looks nice, it also keeps the pesky flyaways that come with humidity from falling in your face, so you won’t be swatting them away all day.

Sleek Fishtail Braid

A fishtail is a classy yet simple braid that changes up the boring old regular braid routine. Simply split your hair into two sections, then taking a group of hairs from one section, cross it over into the other section. Do the same with the other side, and keep alternating. By the time you reach the bottom of your hair, you’ll be a pro. It looks great and it keeps the frizz down!

Headband Twist Updo

If you’re looking for an effortless style, look no further than this hairstyle. All you need is a headband and maybe some bobby pins. Put the headband around your head. After you’ve done this, take a few sections of hair and tuck them around the headband, covering the band with hair. If necessary, secure loose hair with bobby pins.

Heat is one thing for a girl on a summer day, but humidity is another thing altogether. It messes with your time consuming pretty hairstyles which can then alter your confidence. Yes, you can use tons of products, but these easy natural styles are a great way to combat the frizz of humidity.
