10 Things Better Than Transloc

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

**editor’s note: this is a satirical piece**

Transloc: The bane of my existence—the bane of anyone’s existence that lives more than 80 feet away from campus. It’s the most frustrating app to hit college kids’ phones since Flappy Bird.  If I see another “Comm. Ave bus not tracking” notification, I’m going to lose my mind. Or write another sassy article. The whole point of the app is to track buses….get it together, Transloc.

After recent events, like Boston turning into an arctic tundra, I feel that Transloc has been an extreme annoyance lately. So, here are 10 things better than Transloc. The list could really go on forever.

1. Not Baja Chicken day at Hillside

2. Stepping on a Lego

3. A Sarah McLachlan commercial

4. People who use the Maloney elevators to go to the third floor

5. Being unable to pop you ears on an airplane

6. Freshman getting into MA’s.

7. Getting invited to play Candy Crush Saga on Facebook

8. Not getting a wristband at Shea

9. Waiting for the 11th like on Instagram

10. And finally, the real kicker: That patch of hair by your ankle that somehow always gets missed whilst shaving

I would rather experience any of the mentioned ~blessings~ than have to deal with Transloc and its deceitful, misleading nature. Especially living off campus, Transloc is the biggest determinant in whether I arrive on time to class or not. So, it indirectly determines if I have time to get coffee at Hillside. So much of my life rides (pun intended) on this app. It arguably causes more stress than Eagles at 1pm everyday. We’re no MIT, but come on, BC. You can do better than this Transloc app.

Born and raised in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Kelly is a Senior at Boston College studying Communications and Marketing. She loves the fashion and beauty industries. She's had lots of experience with women and their tastes, given her all-girls high school background. At BC, she's involved in Strong Women Strong Girls, Student Admissions Program, and is an account management intern for Hill Holliday . When she catches a break, Kelly spends an obscene amount of time on Buzzfeed, rewatching Breaking Bad on Netflix, and attempting to workout.
I am a Political Science major and Women's and Gender Studies minor at Boston College. I am an RA on campus and am involved in the Student Admissions Program. Since I am from Florida, I can legitimately say that I love long walks on the beach. I also love getting lost in a world fabricated by a novel, there is honestly nothing better.
