Dear Thanksgiving Break,

You were everything I hoped and dreamed for.  After what seemed to be one of the longest semesters yet, there you were.  Dangling in my mind for what seemed like years.  I saw you written on my Lilly Pulitzer calendar.  I circled you.  I even drew in a little cartoon turkey in eager anticipation of you.

When I was practically dying of boredom while studying for my biology exam, I dozed off and imagined how all of my problems would miraculously disappear.  You were what I lived for.

And you sure didn’t disappoint.

Thank you for the many hours that I was able to catch up on sleep. I pulled several all nighters, drank too many cups of coffee, and cried from sleep deprivation way too often this semester.  I was tired.  You provided me with rest.

Thank you for making all of my high school friends come home, so that we could sit around, laugh about our old memories, and play dumb games.  The laughter and comfort was so refreshing.

Thank you for the time spent with all of my family.  They are totally my people, and I love getting to catch up on all of the time spent away.

Thank you for filling my stomach with REAL food.  Enough with the ramen noodles.  Enough with the Chick-Fil-A.  Real home cooked meals are so underrated.

Finally, thank you for giving me so much happiness.  The laughter, food, family, friends, and sleep was just enough to refill and recharge me.

Because… you know… Finals are just TWO WEEKS AWAY.

Love,

A stressing-out college student
