Name: Alex Burch
Major: I just applied to Auburn’s nursing school this semester, so I am currently waiting to hear about interviews and eventually my acceptance. If admitted, I will start next Spring. I have my fingers crossed, haha.
Hometown: I am from New Orleans, Louisiana; I have lived there my whole life.
What is your favorite movie? I am a huge moviegoer, but if I had to pick one I would say it’s “The Shawshank Redemption.” It’s just such a good story, and I’m always for a good story.
What is your favorite quote? My favorite quote is something that my Mom told me when I was younger. I don’t know if she made it up herself or if she got it from somewhere else, but I’ve only ever heard it from her. She told me, “People will not always remember what you said or what you did, but they will always remember how you made them feel.” I have never forgotten that quote.
What is your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because I enjoy food quite a bit. It’s a great family atmosphere, and I have a big family.
What’s the craziest thing that’s ever happened to you? I am normally a very chill guy, but I’d say that coming to Auburn was the craziest thing that has ever happened to me because of how much it changed my life. I went to a private, Catholic, all guys high school and was looking at Catholic affiliated colleges, but at the end of the day, Auburn was definitely the place for me. I have never looked back once at my decision. So, I know that doesn’t sound too crazy, but when I look back on my life decisions, that was one BIG decision. Certainly, a lot of craziness has run through my life here in Auburn, but I have a great life here. The most memorable thing that has ever happened to me though was winning third place in the state wrestling tournament in high school.
If there was a hollywood movie about your life, who would play you? If Hollywood wanted to make a movie about me, I would have to request that Mark Wahlberg play me, simply because he does action, comedy, and more seious stuff sometimes. I think my life would be a good mix.
What three words best describe you? Three words to describe me are: sweet, driven, and content. I like to think of myself as a nice guy who enjoys every day and is working towards his goals.
What is your biggest pet peeve? My biggest pet peeve is when people do not clean up after themselves. I am a very neat person, but I do not like cleaning up after other people.
