10 Things You Can Only Do in Your Early 20s

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Auburn chapter.

They say our 20′ are the best times of our lives, so we need to use these years to explore and grow as individuals. This is the time when we are going to learn what we want out of life and the kind of people that we are. Our late 20s are the time when we need to be start being buckled down, but our early 20s are to explore.

1. Go to Every Possible Music Festival

Bust out the crop tops and flash tats because festivals are one of the best parts about being in your 20s. There are hundreds of festivals all year round in every corner of the country. Plan a road trip with your friends and go meet some super awesome people!

2. Not Knowing How to Cook Anything

Chipotle, Jimmy Johns and Taco Bell count as a balanced diet, right?

3. Living Paycheck to Paycheck. Or, Allowance to Allowance

You have your whole life to balance checkbooks and make budgets. So go ahead! Spend your money on rent, alcohol, Taco Bell and Starbucks (always have some emergency money saved away just in case. You at least have to be a little bit responsible with your money.)

4. Going to Themed Parties

Enjoy the togas, neon and “anything but clothes” parties while you can because all you have to look forward to after your 20s are tacky Christmas parties. Whoop.

5. Going Out on Weekdays

Because waking up early and being at a job all day is miserable with a hangover.

6. Wearing Clothes That Are a Little More Scandalous.

We aren’t going to be in our 20s forever so appreciate the fact that we are the only age group that can get away with having a bare midriff. Rock that Miley Cyrus look, collegiette!

7. Working For Little or No Money

The only way to get a job is if you have experience, and the only way to get experience is to intern. In order to become the boss lady you know you want to be, you have to start at the bottom and work your way up. Internships and working for free are great ways to network with the professionals in your field, even if you are getting their coffee.

8. Try, Fail, and Repeat

Your 20s are all about figuring out what you want in life. The only way to let yourself grow as a person is to explore new things even if you really suck at them. It’s better to take yourself out of your comfort zone than to have never done it.

Also, take a moment to appreciate the beautiful JGL.

9. Flooding Social Media with Selfies

But most definitely…

10. Asking Your Parents for Money…. And Blowing It On Stuff You Don’t Need

You can’t mooch off your parents forever so now is the time!
