Spring Break: Everyone’s Must-Haves and Must Dos

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at ASU chapter.

Spring break is literally just around the corner (or some of you might have started it already). No matter where you are going or staying, here are some must-haves and must-dos to help you enjoy the spring break.

Start off with a fresh set of nails! Go get them done. Get that nice mani/pedi duo in prep for spring break. Picking a brighter color like neon or any metallic color just screams spring break.

Continue the spa day by doing a face mask. Maybe take a bath, add some bubbles or bath bombs, grab a beverage of your choice, light a candle, put on a mask, and boom! Spa day complete.

If you have a pool or a place to relax in the sun, go and tan. Springtime, especially spring break, is the perfect time to tan. The weather is nice, it won’t be as hot as it is in the summer and there is still a slight breeze and lots of fresh air. So grab your best pair of sunglasses, tanning oil, and sunscreen to get that summer tan before summer has even started. Just for safety, make sure you get some cool off spray or something to help with a sunburn if you get one. It is VERY common to get a sunburn the first time you go tanning or are out by the pool after a few months. (Take this advice from someone who just recently learned from experience.)

No matter where you are or what you are doing, grab a scrunchie. Keep it on your wrist, water bottle, in your bag, or wherever. You never know when you might need one and they make for a SUPER cute accessory to match with any outfit.

Speaking of water bottles, another must-have is a reusable water bottle. Add some stickers, make it yours and say goodbye to plastic water bottles. What’s better than staying hydrated and saving the planet?

Sandals are also a must-have. let’s get rid of that bad tan from wearing closed-toed shoes all of fall and winter. Find some cute sandals, ones that won’t give you a crazy tan and enjoy the outdoors and sunshine.

Bring a camera wherever you go, don’t forget to enjoy the moment but that doesn’t mean you can’t  take a picture to preserve the memory.

Whether you’re traveling or staying home, it’s always good to do some spring cleaning. If you are traveling, you can do this before or as you are packing for your spring getaway. Or if you are staying home, this gives you even more time to truly clean in preparation for the last quarter of the school year. So put those trash bags to use: sort, clean and donate. It’s a great way to de-clutter and de-stress.

So, no matter where you end up this spring break, take some time for yourself. If you’re at home or on vacation, focus on yourself for a bit. Summer is just around the corner but we have to get through the rest of the school year first. Just remember to always be safe, be humble and stay hydrated.

Don’t Throw Away Your Change

Alright, so I know most people discard their change because well, what the heck are we gonna buy with it? Also, it’s annoying to carry around so we kind of just leave it in the car or in a bag and let it sit for years. But let me tell you, when you collect a lot of coins, it can actually add up!Ever since I was a kid, I collected change I found or was given by family members who didn’t want it; after a couple of months, I was surprised at how much I’d earned. To make it easier, keep track of your change  with empty bottles or even a cute piggy bank.
