1. The Frequent Flyer
This person spends more time away from their host country than actually in it and usually attaches #GlobeTrotter to their Instagram pictures. But, like, how do you even afford that (really, though, tips are gladly accepted)?
2. The Head-Scratcher
Usually doesn’t understand basic geography, history, or art and goes on tours without hearing a thing the presenter says, but notices how cute s/he is and asks questions already answered to get their attention.
3. The Party Animal
Goes abroad to have a “good time,” but is usually too hung over to explore the places they visit. Arrives to a new country with an article already bookmarked with the best local clubs, or is already on the VIP lists in their host city.
4. The Art/Culture Wizard
This person enjoys spending time in museums, or among the locals, and doesn’t understand how you could skip visiting the Borghese Gallery and Museum, but made time to see the Ice Club in Rome.
5. The Homesick American
Usually not one to miss family or friends, this person just misses being in the States. Says they’re from “America,” won’t learn the language of the host country or the countries they visit, and has an obsession for finding red cups and/or peanut butter.
6. The Preoccupied Lover
His/Her significant other is back home and they feel too guilty (or are too busy trying to crack the Wifi password) to enjoy their time abroad. Shares plenty of anecdotes about how much their S.O. would enjoy seeing such and such, or would incorrectly pronounce Arc de Triomf.
7. The Scholar
Although everyone knows it’s a STUDYING abroad program, most focus more on the abroad part, while this person is all about the studying. They are usually pursuing a major that doesn’t allow any semesters “off” and they have a full course-load in a foreign language.
8. The Fashionista
Tends to study abroad in Milan, London, or Paris so that they can stay ahead of the fashion industry and looks fabulously flawless from head to toe every day of their lives (obviously, that’s us in the blue, failing at being fashionable).
9. The Foodie
This person is all about figuring out where the next meal will be and has a worldwide data plan just to use the Yelp app.
11. The “It’s On My Parents” Kid
These students have a “money’s not an object” attitude genuinely because it isn’t – at least not for them. Their parents are able/willing to wire funds anytime of the day (or originally sent them abroad with a credit card).
12. The Mother/Father
This student brought an overweight bag because they came prepared for anything/everything. They are usually very realistic, logical, and like to plan advance, but are always to willing to help someone.
13. The Expressionist
Usually able to tell us how they are feeling through music, dance, or high-pitch shrieks. They are very creative and are easily excited by the unknown.
14. Your New BFF
Hopefully, you’ll meet one person that you just click with, regardless of what number above they are!
