Kristina Brothers, Germantown native and senior at the U of A, has her standards set high for the future! She is majoring in Hospitality Management and is President of the Hospitality Club. Kristina is also the Secretary of Eta Sigma Delta International Hospitality Honors Society.
“I love serving others and making sure everyone is having a great time,” Kristina explained.
The Hospitality Club raises money for conferences around the nation and scholarships.
Kristina is also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. She pledged her sorority in the Fall of 2010. During her sophomore year, she was the Photography chair. She was elected to be her sorority’s Sisterhood chair during her junior year. When we asked Kristina why she pledged Zeta, her answer was simple, “Our passion for our philanthropy. My grandmother has had breast cancer three times and is battling it at the moment. It’s comforting to know there are people who are striving to find a cure for it and really do care.” ZTA’s philanthropy is Breast Cancer Awareness and Education, so it’s a perfect fit for Miss Kristina!
Being involved on campus isn’t enough for this determined lady. Ultimately, Kristina wants to be an event coordinator a non-profit organization. Right now, she has an internship with Habitat for humanity as the event coordinator. She plans events one being Luau After Hours. Kristina loves working for Habitat for humanity because they are all a family who want to help God’s children in need.
Outside of work and college, Kristina surrounds herself with people she loves. Over Christmas break, she took a family vacay to Jamaica.
“We went deep sea fishing, enjoyed the beach, and our gorgeous view from The Villa,” Kristina said.
There is no one, except God himself, who Kristina values more than her family and friends.
“They help me be a better person and lift me up when I am down,” Kristina said. “They are my backbone and make me realize how truly blessed I am.”
Between her academic and work schedule, she enjoys going to Cross Church and spending time with her small group. Her weekends are filled with girl’s night outs and home cooked dinners with her new boyfriend, Pat. Pat is the perfect romantic companion for this Tennessee sweetheart.
