Warmer weather is slowly but surely approaching Boone and that can only mean one thing: time to revamp that spring wardrobe. I love when warmer weather comes to town because I am convinced that my spring clothes are so much cuter than all my winter clothes. However, sometimes revamping your closet can get a little pricy; but, have no fear, you can get all of these wardrobe items for fairly cheap! So, collegiates, it’s time to bring forth all the pastels and bright patterns from the back of your closet because spring time is finally upon us! Here are the six spring wardrobe essentials:

1. Light Cardigans

Cardigans are really easy to throw on over a plain t-shirt or tank top for a little more warmth. I love cardigans because they look cute with jeans, shorts, with a dress…basically anything! And you can never have too many. You can find cute cardigans either solid colors or patterns for fairly cheap at places like J.Crew, Old Navy, or even Target.

2. A Good Pair of Shorts

I am known to be really picky about the shorts that I buy, and I am in love with the 3 inch chino shorts from J. Crew. You can get them in the basic neutral colors like khaki, navy, or black, but you can also buy them in really bright and springy colors and patterns. They can brighten up any outfit with a pop of color.

3. A Cute Rain Jacket

April showers bring May flowers, right? So invest in a nice rain jacket to keep you dry this spring. Columbia has a really nice line of colorful jackets, as well as North Face and Patagonia. The classic trench coat style is always a good option for a nicer looking rain jacket. I have a purple Columbia trench style jacket that I love!

4. Button Downs

I have always been a huge fan of button downs. They look so classy and you can wear them with jeans or shorts to dress up any outfit. The Ralph Lauren outlet in Blowing Rock always has them on sale for around forty bucks! And they will last forever. Not to mention, they come in springy colors like pink, green, and yellow.

5. Flowy Tanks

Flowy tank tops are always a go to when warmer weather comes around. They are super cute by themselves, or if it’s a little chilly, you can pair it with a cardigan. Boutiques are my favorite place to shop for tank tops because they usually have a huge variety. Boone Belles offers a ton of cute spring tank tops for a very reasonable price.

6. Sandals

Everyone needs a good pair of strappy sandals! You should probably go with a neutral color that will go with several outfits, such as brown, black, or even white. Again, J.Crew has a really great selection of spring/summer shoes that won’t break the bank, as well as Rack Room Shoes, and even Belk.
