Introducing Crysta Song, Feminist Blogger

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Amherst chapter.

Hello you lovely HerCampus Readers!

My name is Crysta. I am a Music and Psychology major. I sing in the Women’s Chorus (come to our Spring Concert), and am an active member of the Pride Alliance. I am also a tutor at Girls Inc, an afterschool program for underprivileged girls from low-income areas. I have always wanted to write for a website of some sort, and when the awesome Evelyn Kramer (who runs HerCampus Amherst) needed writers, I jumped at the chance. Not only because I wanted to write, but also because I’m a regular reader, and I noticed a missing element in the otherwise very cool page. A feminism/sexuality component!

While HerCampus Amherst has definitely made me laugh, found some awesome places for me to try food, some new things to try in terms of wardrobe, hair and makeup, it only occasionally makes me feel empowered as a beautiful collegiette™. I’d love to be able to make you feel like you could do anything, whether it’s because you’re a girl or because you’re spunky, smart, quirky, or *insert any other descriptive adjective!*

So here I am, ladies. I am here to make you feel awesome. Add me to your regular routine! Instead of that extra shot of espresso, how about an extra shot of self-confidence?

With Love, Crysta
