With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s hard coming up with a plan of what to do! Even though DC may not be known as the “City of Love,” it has plenty of places to eat and to do for any couple.
For the new couple:
If this is your first Valentine’s Day together you probably want something casual since you guys are not exactly super serious. Still, you want to celebrate that you are with a special someone on this holiday! The standard dinner and a movie date will be perfect!

Serendipity 3 in Georgetown is the perfect spot for first time couples. Not only famous for its mouth-watering desserts, this place also has great food too. With the restaurant’s laid back environment, it’s good place for a couple still trying to get to know each other and still get close to share a famous frozen hot chocolate!

After eating dinner, head down to the Georgetown Waterfront and walk the boardwalk. Enjoy the lights coming from the buildings in Virginia while walking and have the opportunity to get to know each other better. After that head to the movie theater and watch a flick whether action or romantic that you will both enjoy!

Unlike the first time couple, you have already spent numerous Valentine’s days together. Still, you enjoy the classic romantic date that usually happens on this day. You enjoy making this day special by dressing up and treating yourselves on this day.

Instead of doing the typical Valentine’s Day date; you want to do something different that sparks your interest. Head to U Street and stop by Busboys and Poets for an indie environment. Coffee shop by day, this place transforms at night into the place to be on holiday like this. Couples can unwind with the restaurant’s variety of dishes before heading to the Black Cat’s Valentine’s Day Rock & Roll Dance Party. Enjoy a diverse group of acts playing genres such as R&B to classic Doo Wop!
