Top 10 Best Super Bowl XLIX Commercials

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

Every Super Bowl, high-profile brands throw down millions of dollars, (yeah, this year an ad could cost $4 million) to buy about 30 seconds of precious airtime, so there’s no surprise companies try to make it worth our while. While many viewers tuned in to watch the Patriots beat the Seahawks, many people also tuned in to watch the high quality, extremely entertaining, sometimes heartwarming, and sometimes controversial commercial breaks.

This year was no exception, and to many people’s satisfaction, advertisements were just as great as ever.

Here is a list of the top 10 best commercials from 2015’s Super Bowl Sunday in no particular order.

1. Esurance: Though he wasn’t in his tighty whities, this commercial still made us laugh. RIP Breaking Bad. We’ve missed you.

2. NoMore.org: Aiming to put a stop to domestic violence and sexual assault, the commercial tastefully alluded to violence without being violent (perfect for the younger audience) and the results were chilling.

3. McDonalds: If only my month’s rent could be paid in lovin…Job well done Micky D’s. You warmed our hearts yet again.

4. Mophie: Literally, this commercial is 1st World Problems in a nutshell (or a phone case.) We all know when our phones are dying, it feels like the world is ending. Commendable song choice too.

5. Budweiser: Let’s be honest. This commercial showcases a sensitive, subtly attractive (single?) guy, and an insanely adorable lost-and-found puppy. How could this not be a winner? A+ Budweiser. I’d drink to that!

6. Doritos: The middle seat is always worth it if Doritos are involved.

7. Coca-Cola: Playing on their usual theme of bringing people together with joy, Coke sends a message to stop the haters and spread the love. This definitely quenched our thirst for some good advertising, though now I really want a Coke.

8. T-Mobile: It’s not uncommon for the media to make fun of Kim K, so it was refreshing to see her make fun of herself. Turns out, this whole time we thought we were laughing at her, we were really laughing with her! #BreakTheSuperBowl

9. Dove: A perfect commercial because we love our dads and we’d be lost without them. #RealStrength #GoDove

10. Victoria’s Secret: Only Victoria’s Secret Angels could make shoulder pads look sexy.
