Start Planning Your Spring Staycation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

Heading home this spring break while all your friends seem to be off on the adventure of a lifetime? Make your days off worthwhile by treating yourself to a staycation. Start planning now and make your week as memorable as the international travelers.

Saturday and Sunday

After the trip home, indulge yourself with some pampering. Take two days for yourself to relax from midterms. Try out some yoga, make an effort to eat healthy, and binge on your favorite Netflix shows while enjoying your at home spa. Invest in some face masks, exfoliate, and pedicure it up. Invite your bestie over to catch up on life and watch old Sex and the City reruns.

Monday

After a full 48 hours of beautification, round up your group of friends from home and head out for the night. Make a reservation at a new restaurant in town and spend a meal laughing at high school memories. Afterwards, head to a friends house for a bonfire and s’mores.

Tuesday

Spend your Tuesday sleeping in from your adventures the night before. Start a book during the day and then head out for the evening with your family to a movie, show, or ice skating. Make sure to check out local Groupons for awesome deals ahead of time.  Stuff a bag full of CVS candy and bring along a disposable camera to capture the memories.

Wednesday

Girls Night In is a must. Get together your best girlfriends , a stack of rom-coms (Lizzie McGuire Movie is a must), and some giant bowls of popcorn to throw at cheesy scenes. Ridiculous pajamas are mandatory. Make delicious pasta beforehand or order from your favorite take out in town.

Thursday

Pack up the car and go on a camping trip with some friends. Whether for one night or two, the great outdoors will bring you and your friends together. Forget cell phones, Facebook, and Netflix and sleep under the stars. Get up with the sunrise and have some early morning campfire coffee before exploring around your campsite.

Friday

If you decide to head home early from camping, spend another day with close friends pampering yourself and gearing up for the second half of the semester. As much as you might not want to, this is a great day to get ahead on homework and projects. Dedicate a few hours to planning the rest of the semester, applying to study abroad, and researching summer jobs. You’ll thank yourself later.

Saturday

Spend your last day at home treating yourself to some hometown goodness. Visit your favorite candy store, bakery, and gift shop to bring a little bit of home back to school with you. Hit up local thrift stores and pack up your new outfits for an awesome half of the semester.
