Hey there! My name is Jalen Chapman and I’m your new Guy-necologist for the American University chapter of Her Campus! So I’ll be here to answer all of your questions about pretty much anything. College is a weird time in everyone’s lives where we experience a completely different set of problems and emotions than we did before we were on our own.
I’m a Junior transfer student from Wake Forest University, and I’m majoring in Public Communication with a minor in Sociology. I’m from Westchester County in New York, and am out of my mind. I like to be seen and heard, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t like attention (shameless plug: see Campus Cuties – Jalen Fairborne Chapman). On that note, being the center of attention is something I’ve grown accustomed to. In the words of Xtina, “V is for vanity/every time I look at me.”
Besides loving me unconditionally, if we’re going to be friends, you all should be aware that I pretty much live off of Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, Easy Mac, and reality television. I love everything about King Bey, and I can’t wait until I work for her. I go out of my way to learn her choreography, including a lap dance which ends up being my friends’ birthday present. Easy Mac is carbs and cheese, but TOGETHER, proves that there is a higher power. And don’t even get me started on reality TV. I have every single branch of the ‘Real Housewives’ set to record year-round, then go on the RealityTVGifs tumblr to capture their best moments for a second time. Although I try to stop, I still watch America’s Next Top Model. And I’m not sorry; Tyra is pretty much hazing these poor model hopefuls on national television and gets away with it for over twenty seasons. How she gets away with it, she’ll never tell.
