Hey, congrats! You just got yourself a DC nannying job. You’re probably feeling pretty stupendous.

You can’t wait to have some sort of income. When you find out just how much DC nannies make, your mind is blown.

Before you know it, your pockets will be full and your take-out and Uber debts will be paid!

Your friends that don’t nanny are probably judging. Let’s be honest, you’re making a ridiculous amount of cash.

Your first day, you think you might explode the kids are so cute.

When you head back to campus that day, you are rudely awakened by the fact that college students have the same maturity level as your kids.

The first day you pick the kids up at school, the number of nannies in the schoolyard overwhelms you.

But soon, you form your allegiances and bond over nanny horror stories.

At first, the kids might love you, but eventually they’ll start testing your limits.

You’ve got to remind them who’s boss, but you still want them to love you. What to do?!?

Everything works out in the end and you come home feeling like a negotiation genius, the next Hillary Clinton.

Even on bad days, you’re still pretty darn lucky to get paid to hang out with some awesome kids. Hang in there!
