Our Prescription for the Perfect Relaxation Session

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Agnes Scott chapter.

With exams looming around the corner, it’s important to keep your mental health in mind. Luckily, we have the perfect prescription for a relaxing evening. Whether you want to take a moment to de-stress before exam week or unwind after you get home for Winter Break, these items are guaranteed to do you some major good.

  1. A Hot Cup of Tea

I’m surprised there’s not a tea-drinking club at Agnes yet. There nothing a true Scottie loves more than a hot cup of tea. Here at Her Campus, we prefer Yogi Tea. Their teas are made through sustainable practices and are crafted to leave your body feeling its best. If you’re not a hot tea gal, chill the tea in the fridge for a refreshing iced treat.

  2. A Good Book

If you’re anything like me, you have a stack of books that you just can’t seem to find time for. With all of your classes out of the way, this is the perfect time to crack open that brand new book and dive in. On the other hand, if you just can’t seem to find a book that suits your fancy, Book of the Month can do all the deciding for you. Every month, their team searches for the perfect book for their readers. Use the code HERCAMPUS30 to receive 30% off a three-month membership and a free tote!

  3. No Phone!

That’s right. I said it. There are so many studies that show that cell phone use can increase stress and anxiety, as well as cause difficulty sleeping. While separating from your phone and social media may be stressful at first, it will likely provide you with a time to take a break from the constant stimulation of school, media, and social stress.

  4. A Long Nap

No explanation needed. Take as many of these as you need to catch up on all the sleep you lost studying for exams.

  5. The Perfect Face Mask

Now it’s time to get down and dirty (or clean, actually). Stress and lack of sleep can take a toll on your skin, so now is the time to give it the love it deserves. Right now, we’re into Leaders Cosmetics’ 7 Wonders sheet masks which have a nourishing coconut gel base. Just put on a mask to cater to your personal skin needs and let the ingredients do their work.

  6. A Candle (or five)

Now that you are out of the residence hall, light a candle! Some soft light and good smells are guaranteed to lift your mood. If you want to really relax, run a warm bath and light as many candles as you want. You can never have too many candles. Turn that harsh bathroom light off and bathe in the candle light. You deserve it.

  7. A Night Out

This one may not be for everybody, but if you’re an extrovert like me, you might need a good time to shake off the weight of exams. For many, when they look good, they feel good. So, while you’re taking that bath we mentioned earlier, take some time to shave your legs (if you’re into that) with Pure Silk’s Shave Cream. Then, when you can’t decide what to do with your makeup, Rimmel London has you covered. Their 16HR Kissproof Lip Color is long-lasting and comes in a variety of vivid colors. Once you pick your perfect shade, you can finish off your look with their Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner and Natural Bronzer.

Of course, we know that as college students, your budget is tight. Our National team has sent us plenty of these amazing products that we would love to share with you. So Her Campus Agnes Scott is hosting a giveaway with all of these amazing products, and more! All you need to do is tag a friend who deserves a relaxing evening on one of our giveaway social media posts and, if chosen, you and your friend will each get a prize pack containing everything you need for a great night in! Good Luck, readers!
