First off, congrats on getting accepted into graduate school!

1. Please tell our readers where you got in and for what.

I was accepted into Simmons College’s Graduate School for Library and Information Science for their Dual Degree MA/MS program in History and Archives.

2. What did you look for when selecting graduate schools to apply to?

I was looking for some place that was possibly going to give me money, was located somewhere I wanted to live, and had professors that I wanted to work with.

3. What made you decide grad school was the next thing for you to do?

I do love school and happened to find something that I wanted to continue doing in the future.

4. How did you handle the stress of applying for grad schools and waiting to hear your admission decision?

I drank a lot of coffee, hung out with my friends often, cried, and kept doing my schoolwork.

5. Can you give some tips for students applying to grad school?

I would say to start early, stay organized, have drafts early so they may be critiqued, take all of your application materials to the CWS, ask for recommendations 2 months in advance, create profiles for each of the schools you are interested in, and apply to more than one (even though I didn’t).
