Disney Life Tips

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Agnes Scott chapter.

When I was younger, I thought movies were solely for entertainment. As I got older, I started to realize that in some movies there are life lessons. Here are some that everyone one should remember:

Beauty and the Beast: Personality is important.

It does not matter how attractive you are, how popular you are, or if you are the envy of everyone around you. If you are a horrible person, there is a chance that you will clash or meet someone who does not want to be around you.

Aladdin: Think before you act.

Before you do anything, be sure to think about the consequences before making a decision. For every action there is a reaction and the reaction you get just might hurt you. Do not do be overeagered or you could end up like him.

Snow White: Do not take things from people you do not know.

If there is someone you do not know well, be alert and aware of that person’s actions. The person could be nice, but you do not know them yet. Therefore, do not take anything from them and remember to get your own drinks at parties. Schools and parents constantly tell people this, but people are so busy having fun that they do not pay attention to their surroundings. You do not have to be paranoid, but anything can happen once your guard is down.

❖  Mary Poppins: It is important to have fun.

As the father in Mary Poppins said, “Work is important”, but so is relaxing. Take a break and do something to relax your mind. It can be listening to music, talking to a friend, going for a walk, or dong your laundry. Just make sure you have some down time, so that you do not end up stressed.

❖  Monster University: Everyone is good at something. It will take time to find your niche.

Some people know what they want to do with their lives. Some people change their minds or do not do great in their classes no matter how hard they try. It is fine if you do not know what you want to do with your life. Take the time to consider and explore all of your options. Get involved in things that you have never heard of or done before you may enjoy it.

❖ Emperor’s New Groove: Don’t be a jerk.

Be considerate of your roommate and the other people who are around you. The world does not revolve around one.

Lion King: If you have a position you must do the tasks you are required to do.

Everyday people say they want a job. However, some people once once they get a job they do not want to do any of the required tasks needed to be done for that position. As a result, the entire project or organization fails. Remember do not slack off.
