Thanksgiving Told by Your Favorite TV Shows

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Adelphi chapter.

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to have a break from school work and be able to relax with your family and good food. But unfortunately, its not always that easy…

Cooking can be a hassle when no one you’re spending Thanksgiving with actually knows how to cook. Trying to figure out how to use the oven and cook the turkey could lead to disasters

Who knows what kinds of inventive things your family will try to make and pass of as their creative genius?

Each family has dfifferent parenting styles, so sometimes your aunts and uncles will expect you to act differently then your parents do. This can go along with different styles of cooking as well. Sometimes having a change from your parents’ cooking can be really bad or really good.

That being said, other family members might tend to be more leniant about what you can and can’t do than your parents are.

In every family there’s always that one crazy grandparent who always is going on about how things used to be and “kids these days”.

You’ll have to hear over and over about all the great things all your other family members are doing and what they’ve all been doing since you saw them all last year.

Unfortunately you’ll have to endure all those fun questions like “do you have a job?” “are you still single?” and “what are you going to do with that kind of a degree?” which is enough to make an college kid crazy.

And with all of that, sometimes all you want is to be left alone so you can enjoy not having to do any papers for once.

But you’ll still have to put on a happy face and eat dinner with everyone, despite all of the madness.

Because isn’t that what you’ve been waiting for the whole time? I mean who doesn’t want a break from Lackman?

So enjoy your Thanksgiving because even thoug they’ll drive you crazy, its nice to see your family every so often and you’ll be getting some great meals out of it too! …hopefully.
