Back in December I turned 21 and that didn’t really register with me just how much closer I was to my “real life.” The one where I get up and go to a “real job” everyday and the one where I pay all my bills and finally move out of my parents basement. It has come to my attention that in just a few shorts weeks I will be registerting for my first semester of senior year. Holy balls….senior year of college…already? I think it finally hit me.
While daydreaming in my 9 o’clock, I pictured all the things I hope to do in my next 21 years.
1. Visit Rome, Italy
My mother, aunt and grandparents immigrated to America from Frosinone, a province in the Lazio region of Italy. Frosinone also happens to be two hours outside of Rome. Unfortunately, my mom hasn’t had the opportunity to go back, and it’s important to me that, someday, I travel there with her. Since my grandmother is unable to travel (due to health restrictions), I want to be able to go back and see where she grew up and come back with stories and pictures for her. I know it would make her so happy. Ultimately, I would love to tour all of Italy, but first I want to see where my family is from and visit Rome at the same time.
2. Work for Viacom Inc.
Viacom Inc. is an American global mass media company. It is the world’s sixth largest broadcasting and cable company in terms of revenue. Viacom’s leading brands include MTV, VH1, CMT, Logo, BET, CENTRIC, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., TeenNick, Comedy Central, TV Land, SPIKE, etc. The list goes on and on! Ever since I was little, I wanted to work for MTV. I really can’t explain what draws me to the brand, but working for Viacom is a big dream. I hope to someday be working in broadcast.
3. Be a Host on a Red Carpet (Interview Justin Bieber)
I have to say, my biggest dream is to interview celebrities, hence why I want to do broadcast. I know this is going to be a long shot, but I’m willing to do whatever it takes until my butt is on a red carpet talking to Justin about his latest projects.
4. Meet Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran, I just want to thank you personally for the beautiful music you create and how you’ve made me closer to the art.
5. Road Trip Across the United States With the Person I Love
I want to travel as much as I can as soon as I can. Sometimes I daydream about packing up one day with the person I love and taking off.
6. Make 6 Figures
I know there’s a lot more to life then making money, but, in order for me to do some of the things I’ve mentioned and will mention, I need to have money!
7. Have a Shiba Inu
I’m just so in love with this dog!
8. Adopt/Rescue a “Senior” Dog
I have some experience working in an animal shelter, and I know firsthand that the older animals don’t get as much attention. Sometimes they never find homes. Someday I will adopt a senior dog and maybe it will be a Shiba! (I Hope!) I want to be responsible for giving them the love they deserve.
9. Become an Entertainment New Anchor/Host
This goes in comparison with my pervious career-related goals, but one day I want to be as successful as Chelsea Briggs or Elisa Distefano.
10. Skydive and Helicopter Ride
I love adventure.
11. Honeymoon to Bora Bora
12. Acquire a Lifetime Supply of Panera Mac & Cheese and M&M Cookies
This is silly, I know. But I just can’t get enough of it!
13. Own a Range Rover
Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to drive a Range Rover. I think it’s because every celebrity I ever idolized got one as their first car. I’ll take it when they’re done!
14. Be in the Audience of an Award Show
Award shows remind me of growing up. I used to watch every single one on TV and be one of those fans who spent hours voting and telling people to vote. I still enjoy watching them whenever I have the time. I even got to attend the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet in New York once. I hope one day to score a way inside.
15. Write or Co-Write a Song and Have It be Sung by any of my Favorite Artists
If you can’t already tell, I love music. Sometimes I scribble down my favorite lyrics in a little journal and then describe how it makes me feel. I want to take all those feelings and turn them into a new song.
16. Be Able to Give my Parents Anything They Want or Need
As a thank you for everything they’ve done for me
17. Invent a Product and Go on Shark Tank
“There should be an invention for that!” Do you catch yourself saying that a lot?
18. Camping
I’m not sure where or when, but I want to experience the outdoor life.
19. Open my Own Record Label
Scooter Braun, you’ve inspired me.
20. Become a College Professor
This may not happen at all, but I appreciate some of my professors so much. I think they are some of the most intelligent people I have ever met. Someday I want to influence young adults they way they influence me.
