Starbucks Just Released Their New Mango Dragonfruit Refresher & We Need One ASAP

Everyone can relate to the experience of sitting through a sweltering 90-degree summer day basically dying for something to drink, but lemonade and plain iced tea just aren’t going to cut it (and water especially won’t). What you want is something seriously refreshing, sweet, and tropical – something that just tastes like summer.

Usually nothing really does the trick, and you’re left feeling sweaty, disappointed, and still pretty thirsty. But if you’re a Starbucks fanatic, you know that their refreshers, like Strawberry Acai, Very Berry Hibiscus, and the Pink Drink are all pretty good solutions to your summer-thirst problems. They’re all thirst-quenching to the max and completely Instagram worthy, and today a new one permanently joined the Starbucks menu — the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher.

It tastes just how a summer drink should: exotic, tropical and vibrant magenta. It even looks like summer. Even though such Instagrammable colors come from something artificial, this one’s color comes from the real red-flesh of the dragon fruit (a seriously cool exotic fruit).
We’ll take ten right now, please.

Alicia Binion, who works for Starbucks research and development and created the new drink, says “even the name dragon fruit sounds magical. It’s one of those up-and-coming flavors. The red-fleshed fruit is less common and helps make this drink so fun and unique.”

Pro tip: you can make it even more refreshing by asking for the Dragon Drink, or coconut milk instead of water, and have a much creamier version of the same flavors.

If you can’t find us this afternoon, we’re definitely at Starbucks with a venti Mango Dragonfruit Refresher.
