HC: What does your current job entail? Is there such a thing as a typical day?

Jennifer Muro (JM): I am a writer for television. There aren’t tons of typical days for a freelance writer, especially when writing from home.

HC: What is the best part of your job?

JM: Having the freedom to work on various project for different companies at the same time.

HC: What was your first entry-level job in your field and how did you get it?

JM: I was a production assistant on The Nick Cannon Show at Nickelodeon on Sunset in Hollywood. I was given a chance by one of the producers.

HC: What words of wisdom (well-known quotes, an anecdote from your boss) do you find most valuable?

JM: “The best revenge is massive success.” – Frank Sinatra

HC: What is one mistake you made along the way and what did you learn from it?

JM: Being at Star Wars Celebration with friends when the announcement finally dropped for the show I was writing for Forces of Destiny.

HC: What advice would you give to a 20-something with similar aspirations?

JM: Read scripts, make connections, learn how to pitch.
