If you’re like me and juggling classes, internships and other projects, it’s tough to keep up with everything in the midst of all that busyness! A packed schedule also means you’re constantly on the go. Enter Microsoft Office 365 University, designed specifically for the busy, on-the-go student. Finally, you’ll be able to work on your homework assignments or projects on your devices when you’re on the bus or subway!
While the Suite has a new look, the interface is still familiar. The first thing I noticed was the improved readability of the screen. Microsoft Word 2013 is easier to read with its new larger toolbar and ribbon. The new look is attractive too – take a look!
Like many of you, I’ve got a lot going on at once. The new Office not only lets me have the full Suite on two of my devices permanently, but it also comes with an On Demand feature that streams my files and settings directly to any device (say, a library computer) when I need it. That means that when inspiration strikes, I’ll be able to get my thoughts down without having to wait to get to my laptop; my smartphone or any computer nearby will do! SkyDrive, the file syncing and storage powerhouse of Office, which was originally only a part of Microsoft Outlook, has been expanded to encompass the entire Office universe.
With the cloud and on demand features, I can work on group projects from the comfort of my dorm. Remember having to constantly email documents back and forth and edit projects one person at a time? Microsoft has made this process way easier for us. By allowing us to share our documents and edit together as a team in real-time, we can get more done in less time.
Another cool new feature I noticed is the addition of new Office apps, which are integrated across the Suite to increase the functionality of Word, Excel and OneNote. For example, I added the Brittanica Research app, which will allow me to look up anything without having to leave my document or open a new window.
The cloud-based Office Web Apps turn my documents into fully functional online ones that can be accessed and edited on any device, including those that don’t have the same version of Office as I do. The online versions look exactly like my desktop version and have the same functionalities. So I won’t have to download my documents just to edit them. I can keep them in the cloud and design them there perfectly.
At the collegiette-friendly price of $79.99 for Office 365 University, I’ll have four-year access to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher and Access, 27 GB storage on SkyDrive (for all of my homework and writing assignments!) and 60 Skype world minutes included every month. I’ll stay connected and never lose an assignment! Microsoft Office 365 University is available for purchase now.
So what are you waiting for? Sign-in to your own personalized Office and create something new! Stay tuned for a post in our Giveaways section, coming up later this month, in which we’ll give away subscriptions of the new Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium to three lucky collegiettes!
