4 Creative Ways To Celebrate Graduation With Your Friends

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Backyard barbeque parties might be replaced with video calls this graduation season, but that doesn’t mean the celebrations have to be any less fun. The secret? A little creativity. Luckily for you, I came up with the ultimate list of virtual celebrations that are both interactive and unforgettable. Read on for the best ways you can celebrate your college career or plan a party for any graduate!

Throw a surprise graduation brunch

The first priority when I’m throwing a party (any kind) is the invite. After all, it’s the first impression guests will have of just how fun the celebration will be. I typically start by looking at Minted, which has amazing options be it a paper graduation announcement or a free digital invitation. In this case, I’d suggest an e-invite to your besties that lets them know the date and to look out for a delivery the day of. From there, you can schedule a small grocery delivery to each friend — think, cinnamon rolls, pancake mix, or coffee. Then, when it’s time for the party you can chat over brunch and celebrate everything you have achieved in the last four years.

Plan a grad game night with your friends

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been playing a ton of board games with my family lately and am loving it.  This got me thinking: Why not a graduation game night? You can create custom trivia games with questions touting memories and facts about your college squad, or make a personalized bingo card that includes places and experiences specific to your college or university. You can even share free custom backgrounds for video calls with your invitees to bring this game night to the next level.

Organize a DIY and sip party

Inspired by all of the amazing artists on Minted, create DIY care packages and send them to your friends alongside your grad party invitations. From painting a photo of your favorite building on campus, to tie-dying with your school colors, you can virtually make something together to commemorate your experience. These curated boxes double as your graduation gift to your friends, so include whatever tools are needed and maybe a fun snack or two! All your guests need to do is BYOB.

Create a commencement costume party

Remember in kindergarten when you dressed up as who you wanted to be when you grew up? Take that idea and turn it into a fun virtual costume party where your friends and family can dress up as who they wanted to be then or now! From celebrities to specific occupations, make a game out of guessing who everyone is dressed as and even vote in a ‘best dressed’ competition. Lastly, take a screenshot of your video call or compile selfies into a collage and frame it, so this entertaining celebration lives on forever.

Inspired?! Don’t forget to shop Minted’s graduation shop that includes beautiful personalized gifts, like House Portrait Art to remember a special place on campus,  Custom Maps to commemorate your college town, and even a Heart Snapshot® photo collage to compile favorite photos with college friends. Add these and many other gifts to your own wish list or send to your graduating besties to say congrats from a distance! Happy commencement!
