HC Abroad: NFL London Bash

Good morning Collegiettes™! Hope your Thursday are off to a great start! How has your week been going so far? Sadly, my week has been somewhat bland. Rather than spending my time gallivanting through London, I’ve been stuck in the library focused on finance problem sets, history readings,  and internship applications … Not exactly what you expect to hear from a student spending the year in Europe! But I guess that’s why they call it “study” abroad …

Anyways, the good news is that the weather in London has been amazing! Sunny skies, a refreshing breeze, and temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s … Not bad for the end of October! Is  it true that Boston is expecting snow today? I definitely don’t miss the unpredictable New England climate!

In celebration of the warm fall weather, I spent my Saturday afternoon indulging in a bowl of homemade granola, sweetened yogurt, and cinnamon coated apples at the Towpath Cafe alongside the Regent’s Canal. The family I babysit for here in London told me about the Towpath Cafe and insisted I go for breakfast before it closes for the winter in just a few weeks. It’s truly a hidden gem! I made sure to snap a few pictures of the walk down the canal pathway as well as the yogurt/granola combo.

After a few hours spent walking off my breakfast and checking out my neighborhood’s antique market, I quickly changed into some clothes and headed towards the city center to meet up with my friends from BC. As some of you true NFL fans may already know, this past weekend the Chicago Bears and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the trip across the pond for the annual NFL International Series game at Wembley stadium in London. Thanks to my amazing friend, Morgan, I was able to score a ticket to the pre-game party the night before the game! NFL football players, great music, and an open bar … What more could a girl want? Check out my pictures below! (I apologize for the blurriness  ahead of time.  I took all of the pictures on my iPhone and sadly they didn’t come out as clearly as I had hoped!)

Well that’s it for now Collegiettes™! Make sure to check back next Thursday for an update on my adventures through London!! If you’re interested in hearing more about my daily fashion and food finds, make sure to check out my personal blog, Chic+Geek. Have a great weekend!

Love,
Marissa

P.S. Did you cheer for the Chicago Bears or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
