3 Tips You Need to Set Goals and Have A Successful and Sustainable Semester

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Let’s be honest: we’ve all definitely headed straight to the beauty aisles at our local store, happily browsed every Garnier product on the shelf, and had a ton of trouble deciding which one we wanted to buy.

Obviously, Garnier works wonders for our skin and hair, but did you know that it’s a sustainable beauty brand, too?! In fact, Garnier has committed to using vegan ingredients in their formulas and is approved by Cruelty-Free International under the Leaping Bunny Program. Garnier is also working towards using 100% recycled plastic by 2025.

In honor of its mission of sustainability, Garnier recognizes the importance of setting goals. So, the brand empowered its consumers this year to set their own goals as a part of Garnier’s “Unbottle Your Goals” sweepstakes – and they awarded one lucky goal-getter $10K to put towards their education.

The “Unbottle Your Goals” sweepstakes is now closed, but we still encourage you to set some goals for the semester!

If you need some goal-setting inspo, then check out our tips below!

Figure Out What’s Important To You

No matter which way you want to become more sustainable, be sure to set your goals around your biggest passions. Are you interested in skincare? Then use less water when washing your face, and switch over to sustainable products like Garnier. Are you crazy about clothes? Then organize monthly clothing swaps with friends. Whatever gets your heart racing, find a way to make what’s important to you more sustainable.

Think About What’s Attainable

You can donate a recycling bin for your classroom, switch over to green-only beauty brands like Garnier, and remind your roomies to turn off the lights to save energy. Starting small can still make a big difference! And remember that making subtle changes – like repurposing your empty Garnier bottle into a flower vase – to make your daily routine more sustainable is more effective than only being sustainable once a year.

Write It All Down

Whether you use a journal, a notepad, or your notes app on your phone, write down both your short-term and long-term goals so you can cross them off when you reach them. This will help keep you motivated as you accomplish your goals, and will be great to look back on when you’re setting new goals later on.

You go, goal-getters!
