‘Riverdale’ Is Doing a Dark Musical Episode Based on ‘Carrie’ & I Can’t Wait

Carrie: The Musical is coming to Riverdale!

Warner Bros. TV made the announcement about the special episode — set to air on April 18 — in a press release that mimicked a cast list you might find hung on a high school wall.

The Riverdale High Drama Department recruited none other than Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) for the main role of Carrie, and Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) for Tommy Ross. Kevin (Casey Cott) is directing the production and Fangs Fogarty (Drew Ray Tanner) will be his Assistant Director.

In addition to playing “The Beak,” Jughead (Cole Sprouse) is shooting a behind-the-scenes documentary (because of course he is).

BFFs Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) play the popular girls — Sue Snell and Chris Hargensen, respectively — who are known for tormenting Carrie. Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) will play Miss Gardner, who sticks up for Carrie.

Betty’s mom Alice (Mädchen Amick) also plays a major role in the musical: Carrie’s mom, Mrs. White. Other parts are filled by Moose, Midge, Reggie and more.

The episode will feature 11 songs from the musical.

Let the countdown to April 18 begin!
