'The Goldbergs' Actor Jackson Odell Dead At Only 20 Years Old

Most well-known for his role in ABC’s The Goldbergs, actor, singer/songwriter and musician Jackson Odell has died at only 20 years old. He was found unresponsive in a sober living facility in the San Fernando Valley, a source told TMZ. Although the cause of death is still not known, Odell’s death is yet another loss hitting the entertainment industry this week following the deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain.

The actor’s family released a statement through his Twitter account on Sunday, calling Odell “a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul” and hoping that the rest of the world will remember him the same way. They've noted they won’t be making any more statements as they “try to make sense of [their] immeasurable loss privately.”

Odell also held roles on other popular shows including iCarly and Modern Family, and in movies like Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. He often posted videos of himself on YouTube singing covers of songs, and recently wrote the soundtrack for the romantic film Forever My Girl, including "Wings Of An Angel," sung by Lauren Alaina.

Odell’s passion for songwriting can really be felt in his music—hopefully his legacy will continue to live on through both the music and shows he was a part of.
