‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’ Is Paying Tribute to Richard in a HUGE Way

As November 25th slowly approaches—and we mean SO SLOWLY—any sensible Gilmore Girls fan is anxiously waiting for any type of news we can get about the revival. Will Dean and Rory be together? Or Rory and Jess? Do Luke and Lorelai finally get married? WE WANT ANSWERS.

So although we have to wait to learn about some of these bigger things, there is one thing that we do know: Richard Gilmore will live on forever. After Edward Herrmann, the beloved man who plays Rory’s awesome grandpa, passed away in 2014, it left a big hole in all of our hearts. Well, thanks to some newly released photos of the revival, we can now see that although he may be gone, his presence is still here in a big way.

If you look closely at the photo—that was recently released (and thoroughly examined by HelloGiggles)—behind Lorelai, Rory, Luke and Emily, there is a ginormous painting of Richard on the back wall, probably commissioned by Emily. Gulp.

So yeah, raise your hand if you are already crying and A Year in the Life hasn’t even premiered yet.
