A Recap Of ‘Young Royals’ Season 2, In Case You Need A Refresher

Get ready, because Season 3 of Young Royals is about to drop on March 11, and what better way to prep than with a recap of the whirlwind that was Season 2?

Season 2 opened with the aftermath of Wilhem (Edvin Ryding) denying that it was him in the intimate video with Simon (Omar Rudberg). Heartache and a thirst for vengeance fueled Wilhelm’s quest to earn back Simon’s trust and take revenge on his cousin August (Malte Gardinger), the mastermind behind the video leak.

Meanwhile, Simon tried his best to steer clear of royal dramas and the video scandal’s fallout. He attempted to move on from Wilhelm by accepting romantic advances from Marcus (Tommy Wättring), who offered Simon a much-needed respite from Wilhelm’s world of royal pressures.

But as fate would have it, the heart wants what it wants, and Simon and Wilhelm found their way back to each other with a swoon-worthy kiss at the Valentine’s Ball in episode 4.

The plot thickened when Wilhem told Simon that it was August who leaked the video. With justice on his mind, Simon was all set to take his case to the police. However, Sara (Frida Argento), now cozied up with August, tipped him off about Simon’s plan.

To keep Simon’s lips sealed, August whipped up a devious plan involving drug charges and a fall guy for the video leak. Simon and Wilhem pressured August to find out who told him about Simon’s plan, leading to Sara’s bombshell confession: she knew all along it was August who leaked the video.

Faced with a tough choice, Simon decided against going to the police to shield his family from August’s menacing threats. This decision paved the way for Simon and Wilhelm to finally reunite in episode 5 –  curtains firmly closed, of course.

But in a twist that no one saw coming, Sara, plagued by guilt, decided to act against August by reporting his crime to the police, unaware that Simon had decided to let things slide.

The season built to a crescendo with Wilhelm’s speech at Hillerska, where he owned up to his part in the video scandal, championing the end of secrets. Wilhem and Simon exchanged a smile, knowing that they would no longer have to keep their love a secret.

And there you have it — the full dish on Season 2 of Young Royals. With secrets uncovered, love rekindled, and justice served (sort of), we’re all on pins and needles waiting for what Season 3 has in store. Make sure you’re caught up because this royal ride is only getting wilder!
