Emma Watson has had a flurry of press around her recently, and it’s not just for the release of the final installment of the insanely popular Harry Potter series that’s coming out in July. She’s leaving Brown University and will start her fall semester at Columbia University in New York City.

There have been a lot of egregious stories going around the rumor mill about Watson being bullied in her classes and on campus. According to one story, when she answered a question correctly in a class, a snarky voice from a classmate shouted, “Ten points for Gryffindor.”

Watson says that these rumors and not true, and are not the reason for her transfer. In an interview with the Sunday Times Style Magazine, she says that she’s dealt with worse as a child actress. Instead she cites the awkward dating scene on campus as one concern of hers.

“I say to my friends, ‘Why hasn’t X called me? Why doesn’t anyone ever pursue me?’ They’re like, ‘Probably because they’re intimidated.’ It must be the fame wall,” she said. “It must be the circus that goes around me. Me, as a person, I find it hard to believe I would be intimidating,” she also mentions in the interview.

Well what do you expect when a cute girl can rock bushy hair AND a pixie cut? It’s hard to sidle up to that kind of fierceness and ask her out on a date.

Best of luck to you at Columbia, Miss Watson! We hope the gents are a little bit braver there.
