There is no way to effectively describe just how crazy the start of my week has been. This is the first time I have been back in my room for more than five minutes since 8:30 this morning! Unfortunately days like today make it extremely hard to eat healthy.
For breakfast I had Quaker oatmeal and a cup of tea. For lunch I had a Luna bar and a chai tea latte, because sadly I already needed more caffeine by that point. As you can tell my day was already carb heavy. I usually try and limit carbs to one meal a day, simply because when I am racing around during the day I usually eat at least one meal on the run and grabbing a breakfast bar of Luna bar is the most convenient. Unfortunately, healthier options like yogurt and fresh fruit are a lot harder to tote around with me all day.
To make it worse I had a handful of pita chips as a snack and did not even get a work out in! I know it is not the end of the world, but I am frustrated that all the work I have to do this week is affecting the great progress I was making.
This is why you should stock your fridge with lots of delicious fruits and veggies! They are a great snack that will keep you full.
I tried to make up for it at dinner by having some steamed veggies and tofu, a sweet potato, a veggie burger patty and some fruit. Plus I am going to the store tomorrow and I am going to make sure and stock up on fruits and veggies, especially things like apples and bananas that are easy to take on the go. I am determined to not let the lack of time in the next to weeks be an excuse to stray from the SELF Jump Start Diet!
