In case you were M.I.A. from the internet last night, you know that Justin Timberlake performed at last night’s Super Bowl Halftime Show (this was his third time!) in Minnesota. There were tons of lights, bright colors, mirrors, and even a tribute to Minnesota’s very own Prince.
As with everything, some loved it and some hated it — beginning with his interesting outfit choice.
okay but why did #JustinTimberlake look like a clearance table at Bass Pro #SuperBowl pic.twitter.com/DB1tlAMwJL

I’m still puzzled by Justin Timberlake’s outfit last night and why he chose to dress like Jeff Foxworthy if he had just come out of the closet.

who wore it better: justin timberlake or mac os sierra? pic.twitter.com/F0J6heUkAr

And there were of course comparisons with Timberlake and past Super Bowl performers.
Katy Perry flew, Beyoncé provided social commentary and a call to action, Lady Gaga jumped off the fucking CEILING.

On his performance, and that tribute to Prince:
Justin Timberlake. Oh how the mighty have fallen ?

I don’t get it. What is so wrong with Justin Timberlake paying tribute to Prince. I thought it was absolutely beautiful. I mean dang! Had he done nothing, that would be an issue too! Smdh ?

And some were convinced the whole thing was merely promo for his new album:
I’M ALMOST SURE THAT JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE HIS LABEL PAID THE SUPERBOWL TO LET HIM DO THE HALFTIME ( NEW ALBUM PROMO ) THAT’S PROBABLY WHY IT WAS KINDA BORING THEY WOULDN’T SPEND MORE MONEY ON A SPECTACULAIR BIG SHOW BECAUSE IT WAS JUST FOR PROMO #JustinTimberlake ##superbowl

But it’s important to point out that there were people genuinely happy with the performance.
I reckon @jtimberlake is getting an undeserved rough time for his Super Bowl halftime show. Played the hits, flawless vocals and choreography…what’s not to love? #justintimberlake #PepsiHalftime #SuperBowl52

Love it or hate it, Justin Timberlake still pulled off a major performance. And there’s always next year!
