Gen Z Is *Not* Here For The ‘Twilight’ Reboot

Yup, you read the title right. Twilight, everyone’s favorite vampire movie series, is officially getting a TV show reboot. And while producers were (probably) hoping for a positive reaction from the masses, it’s looking a lot like the backlash following the announcement of the US reboot of Squid Game: not great, like, at all.

While some fans are excited, many are already expressing dissatisfaction with the reboot, arguing that since the show will be without stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison, it won’t compare to the original. Others cite some of the original movie’s iconic scenes — such as the baseball scene — as reasons why they’re just not looking forward to the reboot. (Seriously, how can they recreate that?) Regardless, of your personal opinions about the Twilight reboot, the internet is freaking out… and not in a good way.

Some fans just felt that Twilight wouldn’t be Twilight without Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison’s… awkward chemistry.

Others just feel that Twilight was one-and-done. Why fix what isn’t broken?

If you aren’t excited about the reboot, that’s fine, but you might be excited about some of these women-directed films coming out later this year, such as Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. But if you’re looking forward to the Twilight storyline making a reappearance on screen, you shouldn’t expect to wait too long!
