Sunny Runny Sunday

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Today (Sunday) was my 3rd and final day of cardio for this week, and this time my friend Nicole joined me as some extra motivation! Watch our quick vlog, and then check out the pictures we took on our run!

We didn’t exactly have any specific plan as to what we were going to take pictures of, so we just took pictures of (and with!) whatever we felt like as we went along…! I apologize in advance for the randomness of this photoshoot, and the amount of times I appear in it…!

Spotted: cool rays of sunshine peaking through the clouds!

… and me trying to pose with them!

Meanwhile, Nicole was doing some posing of her own!

Spotted: Seagull in the city!

Look at the beautiful city I go to school in!

Spotted: cool bridge!

Spotted: cool tree! (look at the white trunk!)

Spotted: Pretty dog!

Spotted: Pretty view!

… oh yeah… we’re still in the middle of a major city!

A gondola in the middle of the city?! How odd (but so cool)!

Spotted: Tourists!

Spotted: Tourists again…!

I guess I always look like a tourist… but look at this cool statue I found!

I’m not quite sure what this is… but it was fun to pose with!

Not sure what this is either…!

Or this…? But peace is always good! Especially while running…!

And, last but definitely not least… For lack of a better description, here’s me doing a bunch of random things on the Esplanade… but getting fit at the same time! (These were taken during my 2 minute walking intervals during my intense cardio training!) See, I told you working out could be fun!

College Girl Tip of the Day #1: Take advantage of the weather! Even if you’re feeling lazy, if it’s sunny out, go outside! I don’t know about you, but I go to college in the Northeast, and mid-October in the NE means it’s about to get frickin’ cold (it was in the 40s a couple of days this past week! ack)! So let’s take advantage of any sunshine that’s left! Because as fun as running in the snow sounds… I’m not sure if I could handle it (but I’ll try!)…

And since it’s end last day of the week, I’ll give you 2 College Girl Tips!

College Girl Tip of the Day #2: Bring a friend! Any kind of workout is more fun when you can gossip with a friend while you do it! Today I didn’t even need a Pandora playlist (I actually didn’t bring my phone at all!), because I had Nicole to chat with. And, like I mentioned in my vlog above, Nicole was actually the one who motivated me to go on the run in the first place (aka today’s Tip #1 wouldn’t exist without Tip #2!)! And then after I told some of my friends that Nicole got to be part of my blog today, a bunch of them started begging to be in my next one! They all want to get fit too (hopefully they’re following my plan…)!

P.S. I know it looks like I put makeup on before my run today… but I SWEAR I am not one of thooose girls! I had just finished up a shoot for a reporter package I’m doing for one of my broadcast journalism classes, so I had makeup on for that. Otherwise, I would not have done my makeup before my run – I promise!

P.P.S. My mom has informed me that my push-ups form is terrible (see my vlog from Friday’s strength training workout!), so that is one of my new goals… fix that! We can all work on it together, right?!

Cassidy Quinn Brettler graduated from Emerson College in May. She's from Seattle, WA. As a major in Broadcast Journalism and Acting, Cassidy has done all kinds of things, including interning at NBC News in Los Angeles, anchoring and producing campus news shows, and even covering the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games! She was also the Merchandising Chair and PR/Social Media Chair of Alpha Epsilon Phi Beta Alpha Chapter, and is a huge fan of all sports. She's also a social media nerd, so if you can't find her outside jumping in puddles (like a true Seattle girl!), you can find her Tweeting from all over Boston. Since graduation, Cassidy's been searching for jobs, involving reporting, video blogging, and Tweeting - maybe even all at the same time...!
