Stephenie Meyer’s Original Dream Cast For ‘Twilight’ Didn’t Include Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson

It’s hard to image the Twilight series without a shiny-skinned Robert Pattinson and a sullen-looking Kristen Stewart, but that’s exactly what could have happened if Stephenie Meyer would have gotten her way.

For the movie’s 10th anniversary, Buzzfeed released a post from Meyer’s own website where she talked about her dream cast, which included Henry Cavill as Edward Cullen and Emily Browning as Bella Swan. She wrote, “[Cavill] is the only actor I’ve ever seen who I think could come close to pulling off Edward Cullen.” She also talked about how much she loved Emily Browning’s lips because, apparently, Kristen Stewart’s aren’t good enough.

But aside from her strong opinions on who should play the movie’s main characters (which, of course, were overlooked), there were some other suggestions thrown in there as well. She suggested Charlie Hunnam for Carlisle Cullen; John C. Reilly, Dennis Quaid and Vince Vaughn for Bella’s father Charlie Swan; and (our personal favorite) John Stamos as Laurent.

Though it would have been amusing to see Superman as Edward and Uncle Jesse as Laurent, the original cast is definitely our preference.
