Much to everyone’s surprise (or perhaps just mine?), Rachel McAdams, everyone’s favorite star of some of the most iconic chick flicks, including Mean Girls and The Notebook, is a new mom!
The 39-year old actress welcomed her first child, a boy, with boyfriend Jamie Linden, and somehow was able to keep her pregnancy almost completely under wraps for the past nine months.
News of McAdams’ pregnancy surfaced only a few short months ago. The Canadian-born star has stayed almost completely out of the spotlight, even choosing to opt out of premiere of her new movie Game Night in February.
Her relationship with Linden has also been kept pretty private. They’ve been dating since late 2016, but still haven’t made their red carpet debut as a couple (Linden is a Hollywood writer who has worked on movies ranging from Dear John to the upcoming Chaos Walking).
Other than a photograph of McAdams with Linden holding a newborn baby in his arms, they’re not revealing much about their bundle of joy. Maybe they’ll continue to keep their little one free from the scrutiny of the tabloids, or maybe we’ll catch a glimpse of the undoubtedly handsome baby boy.
With a major Hollywood writer for a father and an adored movie star for a mother, we have only one question: will the new baby boy end up following in his parents footsteps?
