A Peek Into Boarding School Life

The past two months have been overwhelming. I moved back to school on a September 4th, started classes that Saturday and took the ACT on Sunday (I can definitely say the ACT is not for me!). Also, I just took the complete SAT for the first time (pre-collegiettes™ who’ve taken both tests, let me know how they were and which one you preferred). Not surprisingly, I have enough homework to keep me busy for at least three hours almost every night. Basically, I’m doing something school-related seven days a week, which isn’t too much fun, but I’m prepared.

Moving on to something a little more interesting, let me explain my school sitution. I started going to a boarding school last year and I love it. I’m not too far from home, but it definitely feels like I am. Living here has opened my eyes to so many new cultures and ideas. I get to meet so many interesting people. This year I have a roommate! It has been a pretty crazy two months living with Caroline. She’s one of my good friends at school, and I know it’s taboo to room with friends, but she’s an exception. I have never had to live with a roommate because last year I got lucky and got a single. Living in a single was great, but most of my classmates lived in another dorm, so it was hard to meet them outside of class. I’m excited for this year because I live with most of my classmates now and I have a sweet room. The only problem I have so far with my roommate is that she’s a total slob, and I’m a little bit of a clean freak, but otherwise, so far, so good. I definitely want you guys to see what an amazing job we did with the room, so I’ll post some pictures, but ignore the mess. It’s a work in progress!
