HC Wake-Up Call: Someone Threw Russian Flags at Trump, Halloween-Themed MAGA Hats Unfortunately Exist & Instagram Live With Your BFF

Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds—we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

Someone Evaded Capitol Hill Security to Throw Russian Flags at Trump

BuzzFeed News reports that as President Trump was arriving at Capitol Hill on Tuesday, a man (who somehow managed to get past security) threw Russian flags at POTUS, yelling, "Trump is treason!" In video footage from the incident, Trump can be seen flashing a nonchalant thumbs up at the protestor, who was identified as Ryan Clayton from the organization Americans Take Action. Clayton has been in the headlines in the past for attempting to make Jared Kushner sign a Russian flag, and for passing out Russian flags with "Trump" printed on them at a conservative conference earlier this year.

Halloween-Themed "Make America Great Again" Hats Exist

Speaking of POTUS, the president has officially created the Halloween edition of those "Make America Great Again" hats featuring an orange and yellow jack-o'-lantern — and as Hello Giggles reports, the Internet is losing it over the irony of putting a *scary orange creature* on Trump's hats.

Meanwhile, proceeds from the $40 hats all go straight to the Trump-Pence committee, which is kind of not a good look considering they could be donated to relief efforts in Puerto Rico or California.

You Can Now Host an Instagram Live Session With Your Long-Distance BFF

On Tuesday, Instagram announced its latest update, and if you have a long-distance bestie or S.O, it's going to be a game-changer. The app now allows users to "go live with a friend," meaning you can host an Instagram Live session with anyone, anywhere. All you have to do is start a live stream and tap an icon to add a guest. Insta will then split the live screen between the two of you until you remove your guest or they leave on their own.
