New developments

Hey collegiettes™!

I don’t know about how it is at other schools, but Sundays at the Forest are awful. Today was supposed to be a nice relaxing day where I could catch up on work, run for a long time and just chill out a bit. Unfortunately, my day is reflecting what I realize will be another whirlwind of a week. The bummer about having so much to do today was that I spent the majority of a beautiful day inside. On a gorgeous spring day like today sitting in meetings is the last thing I want to be doing. I don’t care if it is walking, running or doing homework; anything goes as long as it is outside. Luckily, I squeezed in a half an hour for a quick run (I still can’t believe that I call that a quick run now!) so I felt like I at least did something active!

Thanks to some insight from SELF.com, I discovered that they make quick cooking rolled oats. This is an exciting development because it means I can make real oatmeal, versus the instant kind, in my dorm microwave! So thing morning I had a yummy bowl of creamy oatmeal with cinnamon and honey.

Oatmeal really is wonderful, because not only can you change how and what you eat it with every day but it keeps you full for hours! This was much needed today because I didn’t have time to eat again today until almost 3 o’clock. I was running late to an event I had to attend so I ate some yogurt and a string cheese and grabbed a bar to go.

I actually did not have time to actually eat my Luna bar, which was supposed to be my lunch till 5 o’clock when the speaker at the event I attended was done…when sitting in the front row of a lecture it probably isn’t the best idea to open a noisy plastic wrapper. So I still haven’t eaten dinner yet because I’m not very hungry due to my extremely late “lunch.”

To make this post a little less dull and show that I do have some excitement in my life at the moment, I thought I would fill you in on two exciting new developments in my life. One: the jean skirt I am wearing today is most definitely bigger on me than when I tried it on last in the fall…so I am feeling great today! Secondly, I have a phone interview with Turner Sports this week about interning for them this summer! I’m so excited and will keep you posted on the progress.

Disclaimer: My camera is currently out of commission due to a cracked screen, so until I can commandeer a friends there will unfortunately be a lack of original photography.
