Michaela, Jared, & Zeke’s Full Love Triangle Timeline On ‘Manifest’

OK, let’s take a second to debrief the series finale of Manifest. On June 2, Season 4 Part 2 of the hit show premiered on Netflix to finally answer fans’ lingering questions about Flight 828 and its passengers — and it did not disappoint. Spoiler warning: Spoilers for Manifest Season 4 follow.

After four seasons of mythology finds, divine consciousness encounters, and world-ending mysteries, the passengers and their self-proclaimed lifeboat finally beat the Death Date and got its happy ending. Mythology aside, the show was filled with endearing romances and love stories that truly tested if love can survive the end of the world. One character in particular, Michaela aka Mick, had her fair share of relationship struggles, but in Season 4 Part 2 she reunites with an old flame that never seemed to leave these past four seasons, Jared.

With all the ups and downs of the show, it might be hard to keep track of their love story, so here is a full relationship timeline of Mick and Jared in Manifest. P.S. I was always on team Zeke.

Season 1

Jared proposes to Mick, but she was hesitant to answer.

The complicated love story starts all the way back in the beginning. When Michaela originally boarded Flight 828 in Season 1, she was avoiding a very important question from Jared: if she would marry him. However, that question never got answered because the plane disappeared for five and a half years. Oblivious to the time she has been gone, Mick returned home ready to say yes, but life moved on without her.

Jared is with Lourdes, Mick’s best friend.

When Michaela returned home, she found out that Jared was married to Lourdes, her best friend. This was a tough pill for Michaela to swallow as she felt betrayed by both her best friend and who she thought was going to be her fiancé.

Jared and Mick have an affair.

Despite what seemed like an abrupt end to the relationship, Mick was having a hard time letting go of Jared, and the same goes for him. Behind Lourdes’ back, the two started to have an affair. Because of this, Lourdes called off her marriage with Jared.

Mick meets Zeke.

With lingering feelings and a hard time adjusting back into life, Mick finally got some much-needed clarity when she found a man in a cabin, Zeke. Mick stumbled upon him after a Calling led her to him. It seemed that Zeke got her in a way Jared never could, because he too had mysteriously disappeared for some time and was facing a Death Date just like her. So, Michaela made it her mission to help him beat the Death Date, leading to them forming a connection. Jared’s and her relationship ultimately ended naturally. However, this new relationship wasn’t supported by Jared. He and Zeke even got into a physical altercation.

Season 2

Zeke and Mick get married.

With Zeke’s Death Date approaching and his relationship with Mick getting only stronger, they decided to tie the knot at the end of Season 2 in case he wasn’t able to survive it. Though they might have gotten married because of the looming Death Date, their love was real.

Season 3

Zeke and Mick love married life, and Jared is their friend.

Miraculously, Zeke survived the Death Date because he followed the Callings and saved Cal, Mick’s nephew, from drowning. This allowed him and Mick to continue their married life. They ended up moving in together and worked with the Stone family to solve the 828 mystery. Jared and Zeke even got closer because Jared was using his in at the police force to work on the Callings.

Jared starts seeing Drea.

Drea, Mick’s former partner as a detective and friend, started having a casual relationship with Jared. There were no strings attached and kept it lowkey. IMO, I just think he tries to stay close to Mick when it comes to his romantic relationships.

Jared and Mick have a *moment*.

After surviving the Death Date, Zeke gains a special ability to feel what others are feeling — hyperempathy, if you will. This proves to be troublesome for him and his wife. At the end of Season 3, Mick and Jared had a moment, where he angrily shared that he never would’ve agreed to the “love of his life” marrying Zeke if he knew he was going to survive his Death Date. Due to his hyperempathy, Zeke could feel some lingering feelings between the two and Jared’s anger. Was this moment a setup for a potential Mick and Jared return?

Season 4 Part 1

Zeke passes away.

Even though he could feel the tension between Mick and Jared, Zeke decides to stick with Mick and fight for their marriage. In fact, Zeke is doing better than ever. He is working as a counselor to help recovering addicts and his relationship with the Stone family is strong. So, this is why the end of Season 4 Part 1 is about as heartbreaking as it gets. Cal’s cancer, which had mysteriously been cured after returning back from Flight 828, has returned. However, Cal holds the key to solving the 828 mystery with sapphire living within him. As the ultimate sacrifice, Zeke uses his hyperempathy to take Cal’s cancer away and he ends up passing away.

Season 4 Part 2

Jared and Mick rekindle their relationship.

Season 4 Part 2 picks up eight months after Zeke’s passing. Mick is dealing with her grief and is not sure how to move on without him. On top of that, all of the 828 passengers are locked up in a detention center by the National Security Agency. However, she and Jared start spending more time together as the National Security Agency only lets her work on the Callings with Jared. While out solving their Callings, there are clearly still some feelings between the two. Ultimately, Jared and her rekindle their friendship and live out what might be their final days together.

Drea is pregnant with Jared’s baby.

Before rekindling his relationship with Mick, Jared was still casually seeing Drea. Near the end of Season 4 Part 2, viewers see Drea with a pregnant belly after a two-month time gap. Putting two and two together, the baby is Jared’s.

Mick finally declines Jared’s proposal and finds Zeke.

In the final moments of Season 4 Part 2, Drea is having her baby with Jared by her side while Mick and the other passengers are solving the Death Date. They end up solving the Death Date, causing them to return back to 2013 like no time has passed. When Mick steps off the plane, she sees Jared and finally has the answer she should’ve given when he originally asked in Season 1 — she declines his proposal and says he will find someone that will be perfect for him, aka Drea. Mick runs off and finds Zeke, and they hopefully will live a long, happy life together. Everyone is happy in the end.
