Making Time to Exercise

Hey Collegiettes™!

Like most college students I am so busy that fitting in time to exercise is the last thing on my mind. However, when I do exercise I have confidence, an improved mood, and energy. I love when I make time to exercise!  Like I mentioned in my previous blog, I’ll start my week off well, but by the end of the week I have given up.

However, unlike most college students, I am a morning person! I prefer to get up early and get things done. Though, getting up early to workout is a whole different story.

The SELF Jumpstart Diet recommends working out at least five days a week. To me that seems like a lot to me! With my hectic schedule the only time I have to workout is in the morning, which means getting up at 6:30 a.m.! I have succeeded the past two days, so come Friday morning if I am rolling out of bed at 6:30 a.m. I know that making time to exercise will not be a challenge for me anymore.

Some of you may think I’m crazy, and sometimes I think so too, but I get up early for the following reasons:

  1. My Roommate:
My roommate is very supportive of my goal, so everymorningsheis upwithme driving to the gym.
  2. More time in the day:  By 8 a.m. I have already worked out and have the rest of the day to complete my “to do” list.
  3. More energy: After a hard workout I always have a “high” and immediately more energy to make it through my classes and work.
  4. No one is at the gym: I am always guaranteed an elliptical or treadmill at the gym when I get there early; I hate having to wait for a machine.

Morning, afternoon, or evening, whenever you decide to exercise, you will always benefit from it!   When do you prefer to workout? Tweet me @Short3 and if you are looking for motivation sign up for the SELF Jumpstart Diet to receive daily tips.
